Asplenium nidus is an epiphytic species of fern in the family Aspleniaceae, native to tropical southeastern Asia, eastern Australia, Hawaii, Polynesia, Christmas Island, India, and eastern Africa. It is known by the common names bird’s-nest fern or simply nest fern. It prefer evenly moist surroundings. Watering the soil often during growth and housing the plant in a moderately humid area will help to maintain a healthy environment during care for Bird’s Nest Fern. Never allow the soil to become dry to the touch. These plants need filtered light to light shade. Don’t expose to direct sun other than the very early morning sun. Placing the fern by an east- or north-facing window is ideal.
